Artist's Story - Jaricco

Meet Me: The Man Behind the Canvas
I’m Jaricco, a Southern California pop artist who finally decided to take his shot. After a long, creative career in sales & marketing, I made a bold choice at 55 to follow the dream I’ve had since a kid—to be an artist. I’m a husband, a father and creator. This is me, chasing what I’ve always wanted to do.

From Comic Strips to Canvas
My first real art class? The Sunday comics. As a kid, I’d sit and redraw my favorite strips, fascinated by how simple lines could tell a story and make people laugh or think. That joy never left. Now, I channel that same energy into every piece I paint—using bold imagery, emotion, and rhythm to say what words sometimes can’t.

Family, Love & Legacy
My art is deeply connected to the life I’ve built. My wife Ruth has been by my side every step of the way—cheering me on, keeping me grounded, and believing in this new chapter. I have two incredible sons, and they inspire me daily with their own journeys. I paint because I love it—but also because I want to leave something behind that matters. A legacy that lives beyond me and the canvas.

What Drives Me
I’m obsessed with movement, expression and bold vibrant color. I love bold lines and loud statements. I’ve always been drawn to things that make you feel something—comics, graffiti, pop art, even a great logo. My process is invisioning those things that make me stop and stare and reimagine them in a new light.

Southern California Soul
Growing up in Calabasas, CA in the 80’s, I soaked in a lot—sunshine, culture, art, and a mix of calm and chaos. My father owned a recording studio in the heart of Hollywood and I’d spend many a weekend with him in the studio, walking around the very interesting streets of LA. Southern California shaped how I see the world. It’s in my color choices, my compositions, and my desire to mix beauty with edge. But I also pull from everywhere I’ve been. This art has a local heart, but a global soul.

Why I Paint for Collectors Like You
I paint for people who see more in art than decoration. I don’t want to be the safe decorative choice, I want to stand out. This is for the ones who want their walls to say something—about who they are, what they love, and how they feel. My pieces are meant to make a statement. To grab attention. To be a moment you stop and feel. I want my art to live with you. To speak to you. And maybe, to speak for you too.

You Only Get One Shot
That’s the philosophy that pushed me to do this. Life doesn’t hand out do-overs, and I didn’t want to spend the rest of mine wondering “what if.” So I’m going for it—boldly, fully, unapologetically. Every piece I paint is a reminder that it’s never too late to become who you were meant to be. It makes me happy, and I hope it does the same for you.

Let’s Make This Journey Together
This isn’t just about selling art. It’s about sharing something. If you connect with what I create—if it makes you feel seen, or sparks joy, or just makes you smile—then that’s everything. I’d love for you to be part of this journey with me. Thanks for being here.
